Interim Government factions loot 74 villages around Kobani

74 villages in the vicinity of the city of Kobani were subjected to theft and looting by factions affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government after they withdrew from them, while around ten villages remain under the control of those factions to this day.

These practices are hindering the return of residents to their villages and are prolonging the implementation of the provisions of the agreement signed on January 29 between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Interim Government, which was supposed to contribute to calming the situation in the region.

The villages from which the Interim Government factions withdrew and where civilian property was reportedly looted, stolen, or vandalized include: Bîr Zinar, Bîr Xat, Bîr Nasir, Leqleqo, Qurquling 1, Qorqulind 2, Şerebanî, Seferî, Hemtopik, Bîr Kor, Pêşek, Xirabî Seronç, Golêketî, Demircik, Koç Kemat, Koktepe Jêrîn, Kok Tepe Jorîn, Mîlî, Xanika Ebdo, Mendik, Xuydan, Xan Memed, Derbeteht, Çixura Bicûk, Çixura Mezin, Çortanek, Tozinc, Berdax, Mizxene, Toqlî, Qeynter, Mereser, Kepirebin, Dewî, Erne, Korik, Sal, Saqî, Kefûn, Tolik, Bîr Cirût, Nurelî, Bilik, Qil Heydê, Der Felît, Qulan 1, Qulan 2, Qulan 3, Qun Eftar, Xatunî, Xirab Berkil, Qirad Kurd, Omerekê, Şakurk, Sept Eydo, Sebt Inko, Zîk, Dozî, Qerareşk, Mezra Şehîd Eşref, Bîrik, Xerab Xel, Zirkotêk, Esediyê, Goktep 1, Goktep 2, Bîr Bekê, Bîr Sewan, Sêfûn, Girê Evrê, Girê Sor, Salokê, Guçêkmet and Qube.

The villages that remain under the control of Interim Government factions are: Girik, Hemdûn, Cebel Seman, Xirab Işkê, Çelebiyê, Nihît, Hêmed, Ebû Sira, Gêçkiran and Cadê.
