Increasing Israeli incursions in Quneitra, Daraa

During the first five days of June, there has been a notable intensification in Israeli field activity in Quneitra and Daraa, as Israeli forces carried out a series of incursions and military deployments inside Syrian territory.

 These developments coincided with rocket fire from western Daraa countryside toward the occupied Syrian Golan, prompting a fierce Israeli response by air and land against areas in Syria, escalating tensions along the border.

 On June 1, northern Quneitra countryside witnessed a dual Israeli movement, with a temporary checkpoint set up between the town of Khan Arnabeh and the village of Jaba by an Israeli patrol composed of ten soldiers speaking formal Arabic and using military vehicles.

 Simultaneously, two military units advanced near the site of the former "Saqri" checkpoint and conducted searches of civilian vehicles, sparking anger among locals amid the absence of Syrian security forces and fears of repeated operations.

 On the night of June 2, an Israeli unit infiltrated on foot from the Al-Jazeera barracks in western Daraa countryside and took positions near the road between the villages of Ma’araba and Abidin, alongside the presence of a reconnaissance drone over the area. Meanwhile, in the village of Al-Mushayrifa in Quneitra countryside, three Israeli military vehicles entered deep into the town, stopped several civilians, and searched them without official warrants, further inflaming local tensions.

 On June 4, an Israeli patrol of about fifty soldiers stormed the southern neighborhood of the town of Jubata al-Khashab, searching several homes under the claim of looking for weapons, while deploying snipers around the area. On the same day, another incursion was recorded toward the outskirts of the village of Majdalya in central Quneitra countryside, involving seven military vehicles. The series of actions was viewed by locals as “repeated provocations,” fueling growing fears of an imminent escalation in the area amid a conspicuous silence from the Damascus authorities.
