Ilham Ahmed: Damascus is responsible for violations of Maskana Agreement

The co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria held the Interim Government responsible for the attacks launched by its mercenaries in the city of Maskana, and their violation of the agreement, and said: "We hold Damascus fully responsible for the violations and attacks targeting the Syrian Democratic Forces."

Ilham Ahmed, the co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, posted on Twitter regarding the recent developments in Deir Hafer and Maskana that groups affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government had violated the agreement.

She noted, "The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) agreed on Friday to withdraw their forces from areas west of the Euphrates, specifically Deir Hafer and Maskana. However, forces linked to the Damascus administration have clearly violated this agreement. Violent clashes are taking place in Maskana between the two sides. We hold Damascus fully responsible for these violations and attacks targeting the SDF."

Hours earlier, the SDF reported clashes in the city of Maskana, resulting from the Syrian Interim Government's violation of the terms of the agreement signed with the SDF under international auspices.

She emphasized, "Ending the clashes requires a halt to these violations and full adherence to the agreement by Damascus, until our fighters complete their withdrawal from the cities of Maskana and Deir Hafer as agreed upon."
