Hundreds protested in Paris, chanting "Women, Life, Freedom" in support of women in Iran and E. Kurdistan, on the second anniversary of the outbreak of the "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî" (Women, Life, Freedom) uprising, following the killing of the Kurdish young woman, Jina Amini, at the hands of the so-called "morality police" in Tehran, allegedly for not adhering to the hijab requirements.

Shirin Ardakani, a French-Iranian lawyer and member of the "Iran Justice" association, said that "the sacrifices of Iranians opposing the regime have not been in vain."

She told the French Press Agency: "Everything has changed in Iran, the mindsets, the society," explaining, "We have moved from a completely patriarchal culture, where it was unthinkable for women to walk uncovered in the streets, to massive support for them."

She pointed out that female prisoners are publishing writings from their places of detention, adding, "We have truly seen that the women's section in Evin Prison has imposed itself as a bastion of resistance in this struggle for Iranian women, for democracy, for freedom."

The day before yesterday, dozens of political prisoners gathered in Evin Prison’s yard on the second anniversary of the "Women, Life, Freedom" uprising, and they announced that they would begin a hunger strike starting on Sunday. They also organized several activities in this regard, such as writing slogans on paper and hanging them on the prison walls, and chanting slogans in the corridors and prison yard, protesting the repressive policies practiced against women, according to Narges Mohammadi, the 2023 Nobel Prize winner, on her official social media accounts.
