How did Assad's allies comment on the fall of his regime?

Both Russia and Iran, two countries that were supporters of Bashar al-Assad's regime, commented on the latter's fall, announcing that they had taken diplomatic measures to address the repercussions of that event.

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Bashar al-Assad has stepped down from his position and has called for a peaceful transfer of power, following negotiations with several parties involved in the "Syrian armed conflict."

The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that there is no serious threat to the security of its military bases in Syria, noting that they are on high alert.

The Russian Foreign Ministry added that Moscow is in contact with all "Syrian opposition factions." Confirming that Assad has left Syria.

In turn, Iranian television confirmed on Sunday the storming of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, following the announcement of the control of Damascus and Bashar al-Assad's departure from the country.

"The Iranian embassy in the Syrian capital was stormed after armed militants took control of Damascus."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the Iranian diplomats left the embassy in Damascus and are now completely safe.
