Holding meeting with Rmelan Fields Directorate on operational mechanisms

On Monday, a delegation from the Syrian Interim Government arrived at Rmelan Oil Fields Directorate, headed by Brigadier General Marwan al-Ali, Commander of the Internal Security Forces in al-Hasakah Governorate, within the framework of completing the implementation of the provisions of the January 29 agreement.

The delegation included Colonel Ahmad al-Ahmad, Director of Airport and Border Security Administration; Amjad Nakhal, Deputy Head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation; Safwan Sheikh Ahmad, Director of Institutional Communication; Walid Al-Youssef, Vice Executive Director of the Syrian Petroleum Company; Khaled Alij, Fields Supervisor; Ali Qarnfal, engineer at the Syrian Oil Company; and Majed Habib, Executive Support Officer.

The delegation was received by Ahmed Ibrahim, General Director of Rmelan Oil Fields; Diab Khalif, Deputy Director for Petroleum Affairs; Abdul Salam, Deputy Director for Financial Affairs; and Issam Kurdi, Deputy Director for Technical Affairs.

The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Oil Fields Directorate in Rmelan, away from media coverage. According to sources, discussions focused on the operational mechanisms of the Directorate and methods of coordination during the current phase.

Following the meeting, a press conference was held on the sidelines of the visit, during which Walid Al-Youssef, Vice Executive Director of the Syrian Petroleum Company, expressed his appreciation for the current administration in Rmelan and thanked the autonomous administration for its efforts in preserving all oil wells and equipment. He confirmed that the facilities are in sound and good condition.

Al-Youssef stated: “We value the efforts exerted to protect oil installations and look forward to cooperation that serves the interests of all.” He emphasized that the ultimate goal is “a unified Syria for all its citizens, where petroleum remains a national resource that benefits all Syrians.”

The visit of the Syrian Interim Government delegation to Rmelan Oil Fields Directorate today represents a practical step toward implementing the January 29 agreement. The delegation had also visited Qamishlo Airport yesterday, where it met with the airport’s administration to discuss operational mechanisms and management procedures.
