Arab and international heads of state and government expressed their wishes for a new year filled with hope and freedom, as Kurds celebrate Nowruz on March 21 each year. Nowruz, which means "new day" in Kurdish, marks the beginning of the new year according to the Kurdish calendar.

U.S. President Donald Trump said, "On behalf of the United States of America, I extend my warmest congratulations on the holiday... Happy Nowruz," while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: "I hope your Nowruz will be victorious."

The U.S. Embassy in Damascus also congratulated the Kurdish people in Syria on the occasion of Nowruz yesterday, wishing for a year filled with peace, prosperity, and health. It posted a picture of the Nowruz flame and the greeting "Happy Nowruz" on its Facebook and X accounts, along with a message in Kurdish, Arabic, and English.

The U.S. Embassy message read: "On the occasion of Nowruz, we send our warmest wishes to the Syrian Kurds and all those celebrating this holiday. Just as Kawa lit the first flame of Nowruz to announce the beginning of a new day, we hope that the new year will be filled with the light of hope and the promises of spring. We wish for a year full of peace, prosperity, and health. Happy Nowruz."

Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid also congratulated on the occasion of Nowruz in a statement, saying: "On the occasion of Nowruz, we extend our warmest congratulations to our Kurdish people and all the components of the Iraqi people, wishing that this beloved occasion returns to our people with goodness, blessings, and prosperity. May joy and happiness prevail throughout the country." He added, "The lighting of the Nowruz flame is a symbol of heroism, sacrifice, struggle, and the victory of truth over falsehood. It is also a sign of the dawn of a new day and the beginning of the new Kurdish year."

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia' al-Sudani also sent congratulations on the occasion, saying: "Warmest congratulations to our Iraqi people in general, and especially to our Kurdish people, on the occasion of Nowruz. May it return to us all with goodness, and may Iraq enjoy stability and security, moving toward a bright future through the efforts of all its united people." He added, "Nowruz reminds us of the bonds of love, a shared destiny, and the glorious history that connects all Iraqis across our beloved country."

In this context, UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated the peoples celebrating Nowruz everywhere, wishing them and all the people of the world happiness, peace, and development.
