Residents gather to celebrate Nowruz 2025 amid joy, unity
Under the slogan "The Physical Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan Guarantees a Democratic Syria," residents of the North and East Syria and Aleppo, from various communities, are gathering to celebrate Nowruz 2025. This year’s celebrations will take place in 11 different locations, amidst an atmosphere of joy and social cohesion.
Preparations and lighting of the torch
Since March 13, residents have been lighting the Nowruz torch in various cities and towns, preparing for the upcoming celebrations that will take place in public squares. The celebration locations are as follows:
Jazera Canton:
Al-Hasaka: Nowruz Square at the western dam
Qamishlo: Nowruz Square in Himo
Derik: Martyr Jijek Square
Tirbespiye: Nowruz Square in Darijik
Girkê Legê, Çil Agha, and Rmelan: Nowruz Square in the village of Haliq
Amuda: Nowruz Square in Jagar Bazaar
Al-Darbasiya: Nowruz Square in Gulbestan
Euphrates Canton:
Due to the massacre committed by Turkish forces on March 16, which claimed the lives of 10 members of the same family in the countryside of Kobani, the Autonomous Administration has canceled most of the celebrations, except for the event that will be held at Tal Mishtanur in Kobani.
Raqqa Canton:
The celebration will take place at the municipal stadium in the city of Raqqa.
Tabqa Canton:
The celebration will be held at the dam stadium in the city center.
City of Aleppo:
The celebration will take place at Nowruz Square in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood’s Shaqif area.
The Nowruz 2025 celebrations are scheduled to officially begin after the lighting of the Nowruz torch, reflecting the spirit of resistance and commitment to cultural and historical identity.
