​As Turkey’s peace process approaches a historic new phase, and following the Kurdistan Workers’ Party’s decision to dissolve itself and end the armed struggle in response to Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s call, false narratives have begun to emerge in service of the objectives of psychological warfare. These narratives seek to reduce decades of conflict to a single sentence: “Weapons were the obstacle to peace, and once the movement abandoned them, a solution became possible.”

​Residents of Al-Hader neighborhood in Hama warned of a worsening sewage crisis after wastewater leaked beneath residential buildings. They stressed that the continuation of the problem threatens the structural integrity of the buildings and could lead to a serious structural and public-health disaster, amid the absence of any official statement regarding measures to address the problem.
