At a time when discussions are taking place regarding the use of Kurdish names in official institutions, Kurds believe that their language is a red line that cannot be crossed. Citizen Mohammed Abdul Rahim, who wrote the name of his shop in Kurdish during the Baath regime despite all bans and persecution, still considers his language an essential and existential matter. Teachers in the city of Hasakah expressed their rejection of teaching the Kurdish language for only two hours within schools, and demanded that it be recognized as an official language in the Syrian constitution alongside Arabic. A legal expert affirmed that drafting a new Syrian constitution represents a fundamental pillar for building a stable democratic and pluralistic state that guarantees the rights of all components and their effective participation in decision-making.
