Students from the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo condemned the abduction of university students by factions affiliated with the transitional government, amid the siege imposed on the two neighborhoods. Women of Raqqa Canton affirmed their steadfast hope that security and peace will prevail across Syria, stressing the necessity of adopting a peaceful solution and dialogue regarding the country’s future, in a way that guarantees the unity of Syrians of all components and strengthens the role of women in society and decision-making. The Co-Chair of the Democratic Society Movement, Ramziya Mohammed, stated that achieving the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan is a fundamental condition for attaining lasting peace, in addition to guaranteeing the rights of Kurds and militants of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). Displaced people from Afrin residing in the city of Hasakah renewed their demands for a safe return to their homes and lands, affirming that any return without genuine international guarantees remains impossible, in light of the continued crimes and violations, including kidnapping, killing, arrests, and tree cutting.
