Residents of Jatli village in the countryside of Derbasiyah called on the relevant authorities to take urgent traffic safety measures at the village bend after repeated road accidents, the latest of which claimed the lives of two young men and injured three others. They attributed the recurring accidents to speeding, the absence of traffic signs and speed bumps, as well as potholes and poor visibility at the curve. (Photos and video attached.)

A customs campaign in the countryside of Hama province, which resulted in the confiscation of large quantities of second-hand clothing and the closure of more than 40 businesses, has sparked debate between official authorities on one side and shop owners and residents on the other. Complaints have intensified in Kobanê following the suspension of old Syrian pound banknotes, amid a shortage of the new currency and the absence of free exchange centres. Shops, bakeries and fuel stations have refused to accept the old notes, causing financial losses for residents, who are demanding an extension of their validity and the opening of official exchange centres without deductions.
