The Deputy Minister of Defense in Syria, Siban Hamo, confirmed that the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into the Ministry of Defense has included the formation of four brigades. He also pointed to ongoing work to establish internal regulations for a unified army and to address the files of detainees and martyrs within the framework of the Syrian state. He denied that the “Kurdish Brigade” in Afrin is outside the context of the initiative to reintegrate fighters into their regions, stressing that the next phase will focus on completing the army’s structure, unifying deployment, and ending factionalism.
