Retired journalists in Syria complained about the mechanism for disbursing end-of-service benefits through the Commercial Bank of Syria. Retirees are reportedly forced to deposit the cheque amount into a current account and then withdraw it in weekly installments not exceeding 500,000 Syrian pounds, delaying full payment for more than three months. Calls were made for the Journalists’ Union and bank administration to intervene.

Khabur FM radio station continues its media journey that began in 2015 as a voice reflecting pluralism and coexistence in the Jazira region. The station has challenged war conditions, targeting, and media disinformation while remaining committed to conveying the truth and promoting people’s media despite the difficulties its journalists have faced over the years. Residents of Qamishlo will also participate in a mass rally starting from Othman Sabri Roundabout at 10:30.
