Women from the city of Garkê Legê stressed the need to secure the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, affirming that his continued detention at this age is no longer acceptable under international laws and conventions, and that the time has come to urgently end this situation. On April 13, 1975, the Lebanese Civil War broke out following the Ain al-Rummaneh incident in Beirut, within a context of accumulated sectarian and political tensions. The conflict later expanded with regional interventions, most notably the Israeli invasion and the entry of Syrian forces in 1976, until it ended with the Taif Agreement in 1990.
