Crowds gathered today at the Martyr Dijwar Shrine in Al-Dawoudiya village to bid farewell to Sharfan Aleppo, who was killed on January 18 while carrying out his duties in Raqqa.

The ceremony began with a minute of silence in honor of the fallen fighters. Kholoud Khalaf, speaking on behalf of the Hasakah Martyrs' Families Council, offered condolences to the fighter's family and said that the achievements made in the region were possible because of the sacrifices of those who gave their lives defending the land and its peoples. She stressed that they would remain symbols of loyalty and inspiration for future generations.

Dersim Hasakah, a commander in the Hasakah Military Council, also extended condolences to the family, describing Sharfan as a brave fighter who gave his life defending his homeland and the rights of his people against attacks targeting the identity of the region's communities.

He reaffirmed the commitment to follow the path of the fallen fighters and continue the struggle to achieve the goals for which they sacrificed their lives, adding that the Rojava Revolution had secured many gains through their sacrifices.

He emphasized the need to protect those achievements by continuing the path of resistance, saying the sacrifices of the fallen would remain alive in the memory of the people.

The ceremony concluded with the reading of Sharfan Aleppo's martyr document and its presentation to his family before he was laid to rest amid ululations and chants of "Martyrs are immortal."
