Hamrin Mohammad Omo appointed head of Antiquities Department in Hasakah

Ms. Hamrin Mohammad Omo has been appointed Head of the Antiquities Department in Al-Hasakah Governorate as part of ongoing administrative appointments aimed at strengthening institutional performance, developing the antiquities sector, and preserving the governorate's cultural and historical heritage.

She will oversee the department's work, supervise efforts to protect archaeological sites, preserve the region's historical and cultural heritage, and coordinate documentation and conservation activities with the relevant authorities.

The appointment comes as part of a series of administrative measures being implemented in Hasakah Governorate to improve institutional efficiency and enhance performance across various sectors.

Hamrin Mohammad Omo is a specialist in archaeology. Born in 1988 in the city of Amuda, Hasakah Governorate, she holds a bachelor's degree in Arts and Humanities, Department of Archaeology, from Al-Furat University. She served as Co-Deputy Head of the Directorate of Antiquities and Museums in the Autonomous Administration from 2020 to 2024, before becoming Co-Head of the Directorate from 2024 to 2026. She also holds a certificate in risk documentation for archaeological sites and is a member of the American committee working at the Tell Mozan archaeological site in Hasakah Governorate, reflecting her expertise in archaeological heritage protection and management.
