Guerrilla Forces celebrate National Resistance Day in Medya

Guerrilla male and female fighters commemorated the 47th anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), also known as National Resistance Day, which began on November 27, 1978, with widespread celebrations in the Medya Defense Zones. During the festivities, Yaser Dersim, a commander of the People's Defense Forces (HPG), delivered a speech emphasizing the significance of this day in the Kurdish struggle path.

Dersim began his speech by honoring the martyrs of the revolution, stressing that November 27th represents a new birth for the Kurdish Movement. He noted that leader Abdullah Ocalan launched a comprehensive struggle for the unity of all parts of Kurdistan, drawing on the experiences of previous uprisings to establish the party on firm foundations.

He explained that the occupying powers sought to divide the Kurdish people, but despite his 26 years of imprisonment, the leader united them, continuing his struggle for peace, freedom for the Kurdish people, and humanity.

He added that the party has revived the Kurdish identity and culture, reaching millions, and called for a deep understanding of the leader's manifesto and being loyal to the martyrs as the foundation for progress in addition to taking more decisive steps.

He commemorated the founders of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK); comrades Fuad, Riza, Sara, Sofi, Sabri, Koçero, and Mesiro, as the Movement is considered "The Martyrs' Movement" that united strugglers from different cities and nationalities under a single goal.

He confirmed that this shared goal is what the enemy fears most, as it represents life, philosophy, ideology, and existence. He stressed that a correct assessment of this stage will pave the way for significant steps towards the future, and reiterated congratulations to the leader and the Kurdish people on November 27th.

The events concluded with celebrations by the Guerrilla Forces of Kurdish National Resistance Day, featuring traditional folk dances and special activities that embodied the spirit of resistance and social cohesion.
