Growing uncertainty, concerns over conditions of Evin Prisoners in Iran

The website “Voice of Kurdish and Iranian Prisoners” revealed in a report a troubling deterioration in conditions at Evin Prison in Tehran, along with serious concerns for the safety of prisoners.

The report stated that the passage of a month since the ongoing war between the United States, Israel, and Iran has directly impacted the prison, leaving detainees in an unclear situation without measures to ensure their security or any judicial follow-up on their cases.

It added that families who attempted to visit their relatives in recent days found the prison gates closed and were informed that there was no responsible authority available to respond, despite having previously received official invitations for visits. This absence has increased concerns about the fate of the prisoners and their conditions inside the facility.

The report also explained that visitation permits are extremely limited and granted only to a small number of detainees, further heightening the risks to prisoners’ lives under the current circumstances.
