Graham urges Saudi Arabia to take more active role in preventing chaos in Syria

Senator Lindsey Graham posted a message on X addressed to Saudi Arabia, stating that he seeks to work toward preventing a “bloodbath” in Syria against “Kurdish allies.”

Graham wrote: “The time has come for the region to change its approach and act with integrity. I have made extensive efforts to chart a new path for relations between Saudi Arabia, the United States, and the region, and I have great respect for many of the reforms that have been adopted. However, the kingdom’s attacks on the UAE and its silence regarding the ongoing assaults by the Syrian government against the Kurds must change.”

The senator highlighted Saudi Arabia’s influence over the interim government, expressing his expectation that it will be used to prevent the region from further descending into chaos. He concluded his message by thanking the kingdom for its attention to this matter.
