General amnesty decision comes into force in Jazira canton

The Democratic Peoples' Council in Jazira canton approved a general amnesty law for crimes committed after ratification, and it entered into force after its approval in an extraordinary session.

The session was attended by the Co-chairs of the Democratic Peoples' Council, Hikmat Habib and Aria Mala Ahmed, members of the Democratic Peoples' Council, human rights activists and women's organizations.

The session discussed the decision of the Democratic Peoples' Council today, No. /13/ of 2024, which stipulates the issuance of a general amnesty. On the occasion of the fall of the regime and the end of tyranny in Syria.

Based on the provisions of the Social Contract of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, and after reviewing Resolution No. (13) of 2024 issued by the Democratic Peoples’ Council, the Peoples’ Council in Jazira Canton issued a general and comprehensive amnesty for all crimes committed before December 8, 2028, consisting of 6 articles.
