“Freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan is important step to strengthen pathways for political solutions”

Calls continue demanding the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, amid ongoing political and security crises and challenges in the region, with emphasis on the importance of dialogue and political solutions to address outstanding issues and achieve stability.

In this context, politician Ramo Haydar explained: “The importance of leader Abdullah Ocalan’s thought is not limited to the political aspect only, but extends to social, cultural, and intellectual dimensions, through his presentation of the philosophy of the democratic nation and his call for coexistence among different peoples and components.”

He added: “Leader Abdullah Ocalan is considered one of the most prominent thinkers who have left a political, cultural, and social impact in the region. His works have received wide attention in intellectual and cultural circles and have been translated into many languages, which has contributed to the spread of his ideas and philosophy in several countries around the world.”

Haydar called on international and human rights organizations to pay attention to the issue of leader Abdullah Ocalan and work to guarantee his rights. He stressed that the demand for his physical freedom stems from appreciation of his intellectual and cultural role and the visions and ideas he has presented to various societies.

For her part, political activist Nohat Shandi said: “In light of the conditions and challenges facing the region, we see a need for solutions that contribute to strengthening stability and dialogue. From this perspective, we demand the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, considering that his thought and initiatives represent, from our point of view, an entry point to contribute to addressing current crises and finding peaceful solutions to the ongoing issues in the region.”

She emphasized: “Although the political solution process is moving slowly, there are indicators and steps being taken during the current phase toward strengthening dialogue and seeking political solutions to outstanding issues. We hope these efforts will continue in a way that contributes to achieving stability and reaching outcomes that serve all peoples of the region.”

She concluded: “We call on international organizations and relevant bodies to intensify their efforts to follow up on this issue and take more serious and rapid steps toward finding a solution through dialogue and political means, in a way that contributes to achieving stability and enhancing prospects for peace in the region.”
