Freedom fighters celebrate Newroz

The Medya Defense Zones witnessed Newroz celebrations with the participation of fighters from the Kurdistan Liberation Movement and their commanders.

The fighters exchanged greetings on this occasion. Several commanders of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) also participated in the celebrations, including Amed Malazgirt, Seydkhan Dersim, Mahir Serhed, Sedar Heshtenin, and Rabrin Anikizk.

During the celebration, People's Defense Forces (HPG) commander Amed Malazgirt emphasized the historical significance and meaning of Newroz in the liberation struggle.

Malazgirt explained that Newroz is not merely a holiday, but also a symbol of resistance and the will for freedom.

He also commemorated the martyrs of Newroz and congratulated leader Abdullah Ocalan, the Kurdish people, and prisoners of conscience on this occasion.

Following the speeches, fighters and commanders together lit the Newroz torch. Afterward, the fighters sang songs around the fire and performed traditional dances, further enhancing the atmosphere of enthusiasm and celebration.

The Awazê Çiya band also participated in the celebration, contributing their songs to the joy of Newroz in the mountains of Kurdistan.
