Forest trees and more than 50 olive trees cut down in occupied Afrin countryside

Settlers and Turkish occupation mercenaries cut down forest and woodland trees and more than 50 olive trees in the countryside of the city of Shara, in occupied Afrin.

The Afrin Human Rights Organization - Syria reported that settlers and mercenaries of the Turkish occupation partially cut down more than 50 olive trees near the water station and the Afrin River in the field located between the villages of Qartaqlaq and Qastal Kishk in Shara. The trees belong to Fawzi Sheikh Naasan, a resident of the village of Qastal Kishk, and were transported by truck to the city to be sold as firewood.

Last week, settlers also cut down forest trees located between the villages of Qastal Jindu and Qatma and transported them to the occupied city of Azaz.

The crimes of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries against the residents and nature of occupied Afrin continue. Observers see them as part of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries' efforts to change the demographics and displace those who remain, without deterrence and in violation of all international laws.
