The blazes continue to spread across mountainous areas between Latakia and Hama, leaving extensive devastation in forests and woodlands, while difficult topography and narrow access roads hinder firefighting operations.

The flames have reached wide areas, including Ain al-Kroum, Tahounat al-Halawa, and Abu Kleifoun in Hama’s countryside, as well as the Anab–Shatha woodlands axis, where major losses to vegetation have been recorded. In Latakia’s countryside, the fires have spread to al-Nabain and al-Shajara, threatening the forests of Kafriya and Broma in Mountains of the Kurds (Jabal al-Akrad).

The difficulty in containing the fires is attributed to severe climatic factors, chiefly strong winds and high temperatures, in addition to complex terrain and remnants of war that obstruct access to certain sites.
