Fire engulfs agricultural lands, halts traffic on Tal Tamr–Hasakah road

A wide fire broke out in agricultural lands in a village south of Tal Tamr, and the flames spread to the public road linking Tal Tamr and Hasakah, causing a temporary suspension of traffic. Emergency teams are continuing their efforts to bring the fire under control and reopen the road.

A large fire erupted today in farmland in the village of Tal Nasri, located south of Tal Tamr city, before the flames rapidly spread across large areas of surrounding land, amid intensive efforts to contain the fire and prevent its expansion.

The fire reached the main Tal Tamr–Hasakah road, causing thick smoke and reduced visibility, which led to a temporary halt in traffic to ensure the safety of civilians and road users.

Upon receiving the report, emergency teams headed to the scene and began firefighting operations in cooperation with local residents, in an attempt to control the flames and prevent them from reaching additional agricultural lands and nearby properties.

No human casualties have been reported so far, while firefighting operations are still ongoing, alongside an assessment of the damage caused by the fire and efforts to reopen the road to traffic after the fire is fully extinguished.
