The conference elected a new co-presidency, consisting of Avin Ibrahim and Idris Hanan, in addition to 23 members of the Union's General Council.

The conference concluded with a final statement read in Arabic by journalist Binyad Jaziri and in Kurdish by journalist Rabia Aito.

The statement read:

"The Free Media Union held its Seventh Conference at the Mohammed Sheikho Center for Culture and Arts in Qamishlo, with the participation of 150 delegates and several guests representing official institutions and bodies affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, as well as intellectuals and representatives of local activities.

The conference began with a minute of silence to honor and commemorate the martyrs, followed by opening speeches and messages in Kurdish and Arabic from the former co-presidency of the Free Media Union. A speech on behalf of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria was delivered by Jawan Mulla Ibrahim, representing the co-presidency of the Media Department in North and East Syria.

Messages and congratulatory telegrams from friendly institutions and organizations were also read, including a telegram from the International Federation of Arab Journalists, which the Free Media Union joined over a year ago.

Following the speeches and messages, a five-member presidium was elected to manage the conference, and the conference proceeded officially under the elected presidium’s administration.

The general report prepared for the conference by the Free Media Union’s Administrative Body was then presented and read in both Kurdish and Arabic. The report’s content and themes were discussed extensively, with delegates’ interventions and critiques taken into account. The report was put to a vote and unanimously approved by the delegates.

After the report’s approval, the draft of the Union’s new internal regulations, prepared by the conference’s preparatory committee, was read in Kurdish and Arabic. An extensive discussion took place regarding the content of the regulations, and necessary amendments and corrections were made based on the participants’ opinions and critiques. The final text was put to a vote and approved by a majority, officially adopted as the Union’s internal regulations.

In the final part of the conference, candidates’ names were proposed and voted on, resulting in the election of a new co-presidency, Avin Ibrahim and Idris Hanan, and a new General Council for the Free Media Union, consisting of 23 members and five reserves, fairly representing all regions of North and East Syria and Syria as a whole. The percentage of women’s membership in the administration was also approved.

The new General Council will, in its first meetings, elect the Administrative Body from among its members.

Our conference was held at a sensitive time as Syria undergoes significant transformations. Through this conference, the Free Media Union seeks to fulfill its national and social role in line with its responsibility to represent the entire Syrian society, expanding its activities and efforts to serve the whole Syrian community, following the path of the martyrs of word and truth.

On this occasion, we recall with utmost respect and appreciation the great symbols of free media, embodied by Seyid Afrin and Aziz Koyluoglu, as well as the martyrs of the historic Tishrin Dam resistance, Jihan Bilkin, Nazim Dashtan, and Akid Roj, and all the martyrs of free media. We reiterate our commitment to continuing the journey they began."
