Final exam preparations completed in Jazira, Hasaka's Directorate of Education secured
The Education and Teaching Authority in the Jazira Canton has completed all final preparations to host the middle school exams based on the curriculum of the former regime. Examination centers have been equipped and necessary staff provided, alongside special security measures to protect the Directorate of Education building in Hasaka, following previous disturbances. To maintain stability and prevent disorder, the building has been labeled under the name "Hasaka Schools Administration."

The Education and Teaching Authority in the Jazira Canton announced the completion of final preparations for conducting the middle school exams according to the former regime’s curriculum. The Authority highlighted close cooperation between the Autonomous Administration, represented by the Education and Teaching Authority in North and East Syria, and the Ministry of Education of the Transitional Government, to ensure that exams proceed smoothly and securely throughout the Jazira Canton.
In an exclusive statement to ANHA agency, Adnan Berri, Co-Chair of the Education and Teaching Authority in the Jazira Canton, addressed the examination process, saying: “Student registration for the middle school exams has concluded, and exam cards are now being distributed. Over 12,000 students have been registered in the Jazira Canton and will take their exams in our areas. This is the result of major, dedicated efforts by the Education Authority of the Autonomous Administration, in coordination with the Ministry of Education of the Transitional Government and in response to the demands of students and their families, with support from UNICEF.”
Preparation of centers and supervisory staff
He added: “A total of 46 examination centers have been prepared in the cities of Hasaka and Qamishlo within Jazira. Supervisors, secretaries, hall and center heads have also been arranged, and all paperwork prepared. A crisis cell has been formed to protect examination centers from the start of the exams until their conclusion.”
Berri pointed out that “a joint committee has been formed between the Education and Teaching Authority of the Autonomous Administration and the Directorate of Education affiliated with the Ministry of Education in the Transitional Government to manage the exams.”
He continued: “Together, we at the Education Authority and the Ministry of Education will work to ensure the success of this examination process.”
Security measures for Hasaka Directorate of Education
Berri also addressed the situation of the former regime's Directorate of Education building in Hasaka, saying: “Due to previous violations and after the dismissal of the former Director of Education, Ilham Sarokhan, by the Ministry of Education in the Transitional Government, and to protect the building from further chaos and preserve its contents, we placed a sign reading ‘Hasaka Schools Administration’ on the building and assigned a working team to manage it for the time being.”
He added: “As for educational buildings, they are currently administered by the Education and Teaching Authority in North and East Syria, pending future agreements between the Autonomous Administration and the Transitional Government.”
Berri concluded his statement by thanking teachers in North and East Syria: “Despite the tight schedule and the extra efforts being made by teachers, everything is being done in the best interest of students and the people of the region, so they can take their exams locally without the hardship of traveling. We have ensured that all categories are supported in this examination process.”
