Fighter from Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh: They wanted to repeat massacres of Coast, Sweida

Doğan Hasan recounted his testimony of the heroic resistance in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and Bani Zeid over six days. He explained that the mercenaries had been attacking the neighborhoods before January 6, saying: "They attacked us for several days, and we repelled four of their attacks."

He pointed out that the mercenaries launched major attacks on January 6, which met with strong resistance.

Hasan added that all mercenary groups participated in the attacks on Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, confirming: "Among them were the Sultan Murad, Al-Hamzat, Al-Amshat factions, and the Sham Front, among others. Before the attacks, meetings were held with these factions, and they operated with the support of the Syrian Ministry of Defense. The whole world knows these were mercenary groups, but no one raised their voice."

Hasan explained that they stood firm and resisted with their individual weapons for six days to defend their neighborhoods, children, and residents. He added: "Our struggle was to create a safe life for our children. We built a complete and democratic system, but they attacked this project."

He recounted: "We showed strong resistance on the front lines. I was injured in my leg, and one of my comrades was martyred." Hasan managed to reach the hospital with the help of local residents.

After the neighborhoods were surrounded, drone flights increased significantly, and hospitals became targets for shelling by artillery, tanks, and drones. Hasan said: "Civilians from surrounding areas also came to Khalid Fajr Hospital, where there were many wounded and martyrs at the time."

He emphasized that the mercenaries intended to repeat the massacres they had committed in the Syrian coast and Sweida within these neighborhoods, but the residents decided to resist until the end. He continued: "Last year, they attacked Al-Shehabah, carrying out these practices with the support of the Turkish state. We resisted fiercely, and the battle was extremely harsh and difficult. The residents of Sheikh Maqsoud remained steadfast until the end, never lowering their heads, keeping everything in their sight. We do not know surrender."
