Homs: Man found dead, young woman shot

According to local sources from Homs, the body of Ibrahim Samir Mahmoud (45 years old) was discovered this morning after losing contact with him on Sunday while he was heading to the Hamidiyah neighborhood.

Reports indicate that he went missing in the Jib al-Jandali – Zaidal Road area, and his body was later found in Joura al-Shiyah neighborhood. His remains were transferred to al-Waer Hospital.

A few hours later, an armed group opened fire directly at Alaa Asaad (19 years old) as she passed through one of the neighborhoods in Akrama, hitting her in the face.

Local sources said she was first taken to al-Za’eem Hospital, then moved to al-‘Ayyadat Hospital because her family could not afford the costs of treatment in the private facility. She reportedly required facial and jaw surgery, and her current condition remains unknown.

These incidents come amid a notable rise in sectarian-motivated attacks in areas under the control of the Transitional Government in Syria. Homs remains one of the cities most affected by killings and lawlessness, with continued impunity and absence of justice.
