Families in Amuda demand release of detainees

The families of detainees and residents of the city of Amuda have called for the release of their relatives, who have been held by the Syrian Interim Government since early January of this year.

Today, the families of the detainees and local residents organized a protest vigil in Martyr Jihad Square, demanding the release of their detained relatives.

Participants carried photographs of the detainees and banners bearing slogans such as: “Release Our Children” and “We Want Our Children Back.”

According to the provisions of the January 29 agreement, five groups of detainees have been released over the past months, with the latest release taking place on May 25. Additionally, on June 1, 28 female fighters from the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) were released.
