Evacuation of civilians trapped in Shahba begins

The Afrin and Shahba Council revealed that the buses sent from Tabqa Canton towards the Shahba area to forcibly evacuate the displaced have reached the Shahba area, and have now headed from the town of Al-Hadath to the village of Tal Qarah.

According to information obtained by our agency from the Committee for the Evacuation of the Displaced, it has started collecting the displaced and buses will go to the villages of Mazn, Aqiba, Binah, Deir Jamil and Sherawa and Ziyar.

After all the stranded residents are completed, they are scheduled to head to Tabqa Canton.

On October 29, the Turkish occupation mercenaries launched large-scale attacks on the countryside of Afrin and Shahba Canton, in conjunction with the attack of the mercenaries of the "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham" on the countryside of Aleppo, where they took control of several neighborhoods after the withdrawal of Damascus government forces from them. This led to the displacement of thousands of families from the cities and towns of Afrin and Shahba, to the districts of Raqqa and Tabqa on December 2.

However, many displaced people and residents of Shahba and Tal Rifaat areas remain trapped in those areas. On December 4, 50 buses set off towards the Shahba areas in order to evacuate the displaced people of Afrin and Shahba, but the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation state obstructed the arrival of these buses to transport the displaced. After great efforts, the buses were able to enter the Shahba area today.
