European Parliamentarian praises DAA experience

During his first visit to North and East Syria, Lukas Sieber, a member of the European Parliament for the German Progress Party, stated that he seeks to gain a closer understanding of the Democratic Autonomous Administration's experience. He explained, "I am here to learn from the administration about policies and how to preserve democracy in a region experiencing turmoil. I also aim to explore ways to cooperate on common issues such as security, climate change, and migration."

Sieber indicated that he will hold meetings with representatives of the Democratic Autonomous Administration, international organizations, and human rights activists. He added, "I believe this is the most appropriate time for my visit after the major changes that Syria has witnessed and the long turmoil that the Syrian people have endured. We, as German and European people, are in constant contact with you, and I am happy to have the opportunity to come here now."

Sieber expressed his deep respect for the Syrian people, saying, "I would like to express my appreciation to the Kurdish and Syrian people who were able to overthrow the dictatorial regime. I have great hope that you will now be able to achieve freedom and form a new government that respects the rights of all individuals, regardless of religion or ethnicity."

On Monday, April 14, a European delegation of 12 figures, including members of the European and British Parliaments and members of civil society organizations, arrived in North and East Syria. They visited the Department of Foreign Relations of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in the city of Qamishlo.
