European MP: EU. must call for immediate freedom of Abdullah Ocalan

The Danish Member of the European Parliament, Nikolaj Villumsen, spoke to ANHA agency about the strict isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the global “Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan, political solution to the Kurdish issue” campaign.

Nikolaj Villumsen pointed out that the strict isolation imposed on leader Abdullah Ocalan is a violation of human rights, and is therefore unacceptable. He said: “The isolation is also an example of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s intolerance in suppressing the democratic Kurdish opposition in Turkey.”

“International attention is important to resolve the Kurdish issue”

Nikolaj Villumsen continued his speech, saying: “Lifting the isolation of the Kurdish leader, Abdullah Ocalan, is very important and necessary for the peace process, and international pressure and attention must be focused on the necessity of reaching a peaceful and democratic solution to the Kurdish issue in Turkey. There is no doubt that the end of Erdogan’s government could mean progress.” Democratically and peacefully in Turkey and neighboring countries and a political solution to the Kurdish issue. We see that Erdogan’s practices are not limited to the peoples in Turkey. With his illegal aggression and attacks on the Kurds in Rojava and Iraqi Kurdistan, he violates international law.”

Nikolaj Villumsen pointed out that the Kurdish issue is on the agenda of the European Parliament, but the issue needs more attention. Nikolaj Villumsen explained that the European Union must take action against Erdogan’s aggression and pressure, take the necessary steps, and protect human rights and international law.

“The European Parliament must call for a solution.”

Nikolaj Villumsen pointed out that leader Abdullah Ocalan represents the key to establishing peace and stability in the Middle East, and continued his speech by saying: “The European Union must call for the immediate release of Abdullah Ocalan, to facilitate a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue in Turkey.”
