On Tuesday, the European Commission said that the EU's commissioner will agree to impose sanctions on Israel for its war in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.

During a press conference in Brussels, the spokeswoman explained that the expected package will include "taking measures against Israel, including the suspension of certain trade provisions stipulated in agreements concluded between the European Union and Israel."

This development comes within the framework of escalting European pressure to stop the war, with growing calls within the EU for tougher practical steps against Tel Aviv due to the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
