EU Mission in Iraq receives file of martyrs Gulistan and Hero
On the sidelines of a visit to South Kurdistan, the European Union Mission in Iraq received the file of the two martyred journalists, Gulistan Tara and Hero Bahadin, who were targeted by the Turkish occupation army while performing their duties.
A delegation from the EU Mission to Iraq, consisting of Deputy EU Ambassador to Iraq David Healy, Assistant Head of Section at the EU Mission to Iraq Lennart Dirider, and Head of the EU Relations Office, visited the "Metro" Center for the Protection of Journalists' Rights in Sulaymaniyah, S. Kurdistan.
According to Roj News, Berham Latif, Sorani section editor at the "Jeter" production company, also attended the meeting, which took place yesterday to discuss media work in S. Kurdistan.
The meeting touched upon the martyrdom of the two free press journalists Gulistan Tara and Hero Bahadin, who were killed on August 23, 2024, as a result of a drone attack by the Turkish occupying forces on the borders of Sid Sadiq in Sulaymaniyah, S. Kurdistan.
At the end of the meeting, the file of the two martyrs was handed over to the EU delegation in Iraq.
