"Enduring Security" operation enters second phase with Al-Hol camp inspection

The "Enduring Security" operation, launched by the Internal Security Forces, Syrian Democratic Forces, and Women's Protection Units to inspect Al-Hol camp and its surroundings in Jazera Canton, has reached its third day.

In a statement today, the forces of the "Enduring Security" operation explained that they achieved most of their objectives during the second day of the operation, having completed sweeping and inspection activities across large areas of southern and northern rural Al-Hol. The first phase of the operation concluded with the clearing of rural and desert areas, after which they moved to inspect Al-Hol camp as the second phase of the operation.

The area cleared stretches from Al-Hol to the Iraqi border, from Al-Hol towards Tal Hamis, Al-Hol towards Hasaka, and Al-Hol towards Shaddadi and Al-Areesha.

Seven members of ISIS sleeper cells were arrested; they had been hiding in remote areas, exploiting the geography to plan and carry out "terrorist operations," including extortion and murder against locals and security forces.

This brings the number of ISIS cell members arrested during the first two days of the operation to 47 members, along with the seizure of quantities of weapons and ammunition.

ANHA correspondent, who is following the operation, reported that the "Enduring Security" operations room forces began this morning with search and inspection activities in the migrants' section of Al-Hol camp.

The objective of the "Enduring Security" operation is to pursue ISIS sleeper cells and their collaborators, who attempt to establish a presence near and inside Al-Hol camp, especially after an attack on an Internal Security Forces patrol last month.
