Doctor assaulted in Raqqa city

Five young men, aged between 20 and 25, pursued a doctor while he was driving his car in the city of Raqqa, before stopping him and physically assaulting him.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the young men were traveling in a four-wheel-drive vehicle. They pursued the doctor in the area between Al-Ma'arri School and Shukri Bouzan Station, then got out of the vehicle and assaulted him before leaving the scene.

The reasons for or motives behind the assault have not yet been established. The incident has caused anger among local residents, amid calls for the relevant authorities to investigate the circumstances of the incident, identify the perpetrators, and take legal action against them.

In a separate incident in the western countryside of Raqqa, unidentified individuals attempted to target a judge’s home in the village of Ja'bar after placing an explosive device, consisting of a hand grenade, attached to the door of his car, which was parked in front of the house.

The incident resulted in no injuries or significant material damage. However, the attempted targeting of the judge has raised concerns about the escalation of threats and intimidation tactics outside the framework of the law.
