Displaced women demand end to occupation, crimes in Serekaniye

Displaced women from Serekaniye, currently residing in the Washukani camp west of Hasaka have denounced the takeover of their homes and properties by mercenaries of the Turkish occupying state.

Kazi Haso emphasized the right of displaced persons to return safely and pointed out that the Turkish occupation mercenaries have taken over homes and properties of displaced residents and sold them, attempting to legitimize their occupation through these crimes.

Similarly, Maysa Ahmed stated that displaced people have a single demand: safe return. She said, “We reject the sale of our homes and property, which are inherited from our ancestors. We have been displaced for six years, and it is our right to return to our homes and lands.”

Zelukh Muhammad condemned violations by the Turkish occupying state, saying, “We left behind everything we owned, and only our homes and properties remain. We refuse to have them sold. All we want is a safe return.”

Sahar Ibrahim reported that the mercenaries also sold her house and called on international organizations to immediately fulfill their responsibilities and intervene.

Fatima Khalil condemned the seizure and sale of homes and properties of Serekaniye residents, criticizing the lack of accountability and the stance of international organizations.
