Dilemma ISIS file between responsibility, goals, and reasons

Dozens of thousands of ISIS/ Deash mercenaries are being held in SDF and Global Coalition detainees' centers, as well as in two separate camps thousands of family members of the mercenaries, without any signs of international support for the Democratic Autonomous Administration DAA to end the ISIS file as a whole.

This outstanding file poses great concerns for the community of North and East Syria, as well as the international community with the escalation of attacks by the Turkish occupation state, the latest of which is the emergence of data and indicators of ISIS returning to organize its ranks, taking advantage of opportunities to re-organize and return to geographical control after ending its geographical control in 2019.

The political activist and administrator in the Office of the Organization of the Future Syria Party Council, Yasser al-Kurdi, points out that the distraction of the Coalition Forces and the countries that enlist their citizens in the ranks of ISIS from this important work leads to destabilization of security and stability and provides space for ISIS to reorganize its ranks.

He believes that to ensure the security and stability of the region, and to prevent the return of ISIS and the escalation of its threat to the world, lies in limiting the attacks of the Turkish occupation state on North and East Syria, and the Globlal Coalition and other international forces work seriously in supporting the SDF and the Autonomous Administration to address this issue.

Al-Kurdi also stressed, "Consolidated international efforts in this context are very important. The most important thing is cooperation with the Autonomous Administration to resolve the issue of the presence of thousands of fighters and their families. This issue must be considered a priority issue for the international community, the Global Coalition against terrorism, and the issue of all forces that want ISIS to end and its threat to disappear." Without this, the gains achieved in the war on terrorism will not be preserved, and there will be other attempts to return and threaten millions in Syria, the region, and the world.”

Al-Kurdi stressed, "The international community, especially countries that have citizens within the ranks of ISIS, must develop clear plans that are compatible with the size of the threat that the organization poses today and develop mechanisms to combat its return. This, of course, must be done by taking real steps, otherwise the terrorist organization will seek to strengthen its ranks and resume its activity here or there, these activities will be exploited by some, as this will have major religious, political, economic, and security consequences, as well as a return to point zero, and this will contribute to creating massive chaos not only in North and East Syria, but will have repercussions throughout the world.”

Regarding what prevents these parties from resorting to this, despite the clarity of what must be done, political activist Yasser al-Kurdi said, “There are other main goals behind the rehabilitation and revival of ISIS, which are to fight AANES' project, obstruct it, and create chaos in the region, which is characterized by clear stability compared to the rest of the Syrian regions.” .

The head of the Council of the Ahl Al-Bayt League in Tabqa Canton, Sheikh Adnan al-Alaiwi, agrees with his predecessor regarding what the Global Coalition and other international powers are calling for not resolving the ISIS file as a whole, and for its part, he pointed out that Turkey has the greatest interest with those parties in not eliminating ISIS and resolving its pending file.

He said about Turkey's goals, "If we look carefully, we notice the close connection between the Turkish occupation state and ISIS. They are two sides of the same coin. Turkey is the one who contributed to the formation of ISIS and funded it, and Turkey's goal at the current stage, with the end of ISIS' geographical control, is to revive it to strike AANES' project, and this is what is clear." ISIS movements escalate with every Turkish attack on our regions.”

Sheikh al-Aliwi rules out any serious move to address the ISIS file and reduce its burden on the Democratic Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces, relying on the cohesion of the society of North and East Syria, its military forces, and its administrative system to combat it and prevent its return. He called on everyone to realize the dangers of ISIS, and to rely primarily on self-reliance to protect the region.

He held international powers responsible for the repercussions of ISIS's return and its posing of a threat again to the society of North and East Syria, the Middle East, and the world.
