Details of International Women's Day celebrations

Women in Rojava, Kurdistan, have enthusiastically launched their March 8th program, amidst serious demands to protect their achievements. The program's organizing committee will announce the location and date of the celebration in the first days of March.

In Rojava, Kurdistan, the activities commemorating International Women's Day on March 8th continue as part of the March 8th program and the campaign aimed at enshrining women's rights in the new Syria. This campaign was announced on February 18th by the Joint Events Platform of Women's Movements and Organizations in Rojava.

The activities began on February 21st under the slogan: "With the philosophy of women, life, and freedom, we protect the gains of the women's revolution."

Activities continue daily through marches, meetings, festivals, and cultural and artistic events. These events focus on highlighting women's will, supporting the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), upholding the mother tongue, protecting women's gains, and demanding the inclusion of women's rights in the new Syrian constitution.

According to information obtained from the March 8th program's preparatory committee, the streets of the cities in the Jazera region will be adorned with the colors and voices of women. March 8th will also be celebrated with public events, the locations and times of which will be announced in an official statement in early March 2026.
