In a symbolic response to the historic call made by Leader Abdullah Ocalan on July 9, a group of 30 fighters from the Kurdistan Liberation Movement, including Basi Hozat, the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK), destroyed their weapons near the Jasna Cave, located in the village of Surdash, Dokan District, Sulaymaniyah Governorate, in southern Kurdistan, yesterday, Friday.

The director of the National Security Museum in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Ako Gharib, announced that the weapons burned during the ceremony will be stored in the Jasna Cave itself, the site of the destruction, instead of being transferred to the National Security and Defense Museum as originally planned.

Gharib explained, "The weapons were originally scheduled to be transferred to the National Museum, but the decision was later amended. Under the new decision, the weapons will be stored in the same location, with a special mechanism in place to determine the storage location within the cave and the method of their preservation."
