Democratic Autonomous Administration condemns massacre in eastern Aleppo countryside

According to the statement, on the evening of Saturday, September 20, armed factions linked to the Turkish occupation forces carried out a horrific attack on the village of Umm Tina in rural Deir Hafer, east of Aleppo. The assault began with drone strikes, followed by heavy artillery shelling that directly targeted civilian homes, resulting in the death of seven civilians—including women and children—and the injury of four others.

The Autonomous Administration strongly denounced these “barbaric crimes,” stressing that such acts reflect the continuation of an aggressive policy against the peoples of the region.

The statement warned that these attacks are aimed at spreading fear and chaos at a time when Syria is in a critical phase that requires joint efforts to build a safe and stable future, free from violence and exclusion.

The Administration underscored the necessity of holding perpetrators accountable before justice and ensuring they do not escape punishment.

It further called on the international community to shoulder its moral and humanitarian responsibilities toward civilians facing repeated attacks.

The DAA extended its deepest condolences to the families of the victims of this massacre, expressing solidarity with their grief, and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.
