Demands for improved living conditions in Tel Tamer- Qamishlo

Residents of Tel Tamer, along with members of the Kurdish Left Party, the National Unity parties, and several other political parties and groups, held a protest today in front of the Electricity Roundabout, demanding improved services and living conditions.

Participants raised banners and chanted slogans affirming the residents' right to basic services, particularly drinking water. They expressed their discontent with the continued deterioration of living conditions and the rising prices of food, fuel, and services, along with the increasing burdens weighing on citizens.

The protesters emphasized that the water crisis is one of the most significant challenges facing the residents of Tel Tamer and its surrounding countryside. They pointed out that the continued shutdown of the Alouk water station deprives thousands of civilians of their primary source of drinking water, forcing them to rely on alternative sources that do not meet their daily needs. This situation negatively impacts the health and humanitarian situation.

The participants called on relevant authorities and international and humanitarian organizations to take immediate action to find sustainable solutions to the water crisis, work to reduce prices, and improve living conditions. They stressed that access to water, basic services, and a decent standard of living is a fundamental right for all citizens.

The organizers of the demonstration indicated that this action is part of a peaceful expression of the residents' demands and a way to make their voices heard by the relevant authorities. They affirmed that their protests will continue until their demands are met, foremost among them the permanent reactivation of the Alouk water station and the implementation of practical measures to curb rising prices.

In the same context, the city center of Qamishlo witnessed a protest in which dozens of residents participated, rejecting the rise in food and fuel prices and the deterioration of living conditions. The protesters raised banners, one of which read: "Stop the corruption... prices will decrease," and chanted slogans calling for urgent measures to address the economic crisis and respond to the demands of the citizens.
