Delegation from Syria’s Interim Govt. Ministry of Health; UNICEF visits Kobani city

A delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Health and UNICEF visited the Autonomous Administration in the city of Kobani to discuss mechanisms for providing necessary support and medical assistance to the city, as well as to review a comprehensive vaccination campaign.

To discuss ways of delivering essential support and medical aid to the city, and to review a comprehensive vaccination campaign, a delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Health and UNICEF visited the Autonomous Administration in Kobani.

The delegation included the Director of Health in Aleppo Governorate and the official responsible for healthcare at the Ministry of Health in Damascus, along with representatives from UNICEF. The delegation was received by the presidential body of the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Kobani, as well as representatives of health institutions in the city.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the health and humanitarian situation in the city, particularly the issue of vaccinations and how they will be administered to children. A comprehensive vaccination campaign is scheduled to begin in Kobani within the coming days, with the participation of medical personnel from outside the city.

The campaign is expected to continue until the 22nd of the current month, and the delegation affirmed its readiness to provide the necessary support.

At the conclusion of the visit, both parties stressed the importance of strengthening coordination between them in order to support the population’s health, address current challenges, and improve the healthcare situation in the region, in a way that serves the public interest. They also emphasized the need to ensure the success of the integration project in all aspects.
