Delegation from Kyrgyzstan visits NE, Syria

A delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic, headed by Bakit Kadyrov, representative of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited the regions of North and East Syria.

The visiting delegation was received by the Deputy co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations, Rubel Baho, member of the Administrative Board, Khaled Ibrahim, and the representative of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), Lana Hussein.

The Deputy co-chairman of the Foreign Relations Department, Rubel Baho, said during the meeting, “The Turkish attacks on the Autonomous Administration areas systematically destroy all components and means of life, and aim to displace millions of the region’s residents and turn them into refugees, which is a violation of international treaties and laws, especially the Geneva Convention, and all of these "The attacks come in light of the silence of the international community."

He stressed that the Turkish attacks on the Autonomous Administration areas harm the war against ISIS, and undermine the process of deporting ISIS families. There is information that ISIS is exploiting what is happening to organize its ranks and launch attacks on our regions.

In his turn, the representative of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, Bakit Kadyrov, said that the Kyrgyz Republic recognizes the sacrifices made by the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces in the fight against ISIS.

Kadyrov thanked the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces for the assistance provided in the process of returning the citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in light of the difficult circumstances the region is experiencing.

At the end of the meeting, 72 children and 27 women from ISIS families were handed over to the Kyrgyz Republic according to a handover document between the two sides.
