Death toll rises amid ongoing escalation in southern Lebanon

Military operations have continued in southern Lebanon, resulting in an increasing number of casualties amid ongoing airstrikes and reciprocal shelling between both sides, despite continued political and diplomatic efforts to contain the escalation.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that the number of people killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes on areas in southern Lebanon has reached 2,586, in addition to 8,020 wounded, from March 2 until April 30, according to official data.

In a separate incident, the Lebanese army announced the killing of one of its soldiers along with several members of his family in an airstrike that targeted the town of Kfarraman in the Nabatieh district. Local sources also told the Lebanese National News Agency that additional casualties were reported following a series of intensive airstrikes on areas in Tyre and Bint Jbeil.

On the other hand, the Israeli army announced the killing of one soldier and the injury of another during an attack attributed to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, alongside reports of projectile launches and interceptions of aerial targets in northern Israel.

These developments come despite a ceasefire agreement being in place, as violations and reciprocal attacks continue between both sides, reflecting ongoing field tensions and instability in the security situation in the region.
