The town of Beit Jinn in the southwestern Damascus countryside witnessed a large-scale military escalation at dawn today after Israeli forces infiltrated the area to carry out an arrest campaign, leading to intense clashes and artillery and air strikes that caused a house to collapse.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the operation resulted in 35 casualties, dead and wounded, including 15 fatalities—7 of whom were civilians, including women and children—with additional missing persons and detainees. Six Israeli soldiers were also injured during the clashes.

This morning, Israeli forces allowed Syrian ambulances and rescue teams to enter the area to retrieve the bodies of the dead and injured after inspecting them, and then rechecked the vehicles again as they left the area toward Damascus.
