The number of fatalities from the attack on a girls’ primary school in the city of Minab, Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, has increased to 148 students, while 95 others sustained injuries, according to what the Tasnim News Agency reported, citing the city’s Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Earlier, Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, stated that more than 100 children were killed as a result of a strike which he said was carried out by the United States and Israel and targeted a primary school in Iran, noting that the number of civilian victims continues to rise.

The Deputy Governor of Hormozgan Province had previously announced that a girls’ primary school in Minab had been subjected to an attack, without providing further details regarding the circumstances of the incident or officially identifying the responsible party.

The attack took place in the city of Minab, located near the Gulf coast, where reports indicated that approximately 170 schoolgirls were inside the school at the time of the attack.

It is worth noting that Hormozgan Province hosts a number of Iranian naval bases.
