A number of university students in Aleppo told ANHA agency that they received death threats from an armed man after one of them was wearing a necklace bearing a Kurdish symbol.

The incident occurred in the cemetery area of the eastern part of the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, the same location where Kurdish symbols were removed on Friday by members of the Syrian Interim Government factions.

One of the students explained that while they were walking in the area, an armed man in civilian clothes emerged from a side street and blocked their path. He then cut the necklace, which bore a Kurdish symbol, and stomped on it, hurling insults and threats, including death if they wore such symbols again.

It is worth noting that members of the Syrian Interim Government forces arrested four young men and a woman from the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood for displaying Kurdish symbols in the area
